POP THURSDAYS at MoPA is proud to present a screening of Easy Rider, a classic road movie that touches on themes of freedom, exploration and the shifting culture of 60s America. With standout performances from Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and a young Jack Nicholson, Easy Rider portrays the journey of a generation, exploring a budding countercultural movement and a desire to break free from the grasp of institution. Enjoy this raucous ride from a seat in MoPA's theater or watch from the bar as it is projected on the Atrium walls.
Celebrate with Mardi Gras inspired performances from Animal Cracker Conspiracy, rock out with 60s sounds from DJ Mikey Face. Rev your engines with classic rides provided by San Diego Harley Davidson. Experiment with collaborative art-making activities and sip on craft cocktails prepared by the master mixologists of Alchemy Restaurant. The galleries will be open to view Streetwise: Masters of 60s Photography.
